The Quran was revealed for human beings to make their lives smooth. Allah Almighty has promised great rewards and virtues for reading and following the Quran.
“Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect.”[Quran Al-Hashr 59:21]
In the Quran and Hadith, countless rewards are promised for those who learn the Quran and practice its teachings. Each word of the Quran adds 10 virtues to your account. In various Hadiths, the virtues of the glorious Quran are discussed:An authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee states:
“Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that ‘Alif, Laam, Meem’ is a letter, rather I am saying that ‘Alif’ is a letter, ‘laam’ is a letter and ‘meem’ is a letter.”So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits and to gain the following merit as well.
When beginners start to learn Quran, they are not fluent and smooth in Quran reading because they are not well-versed in the Arabic language. But there is double the reward for their effort to learn Quran. A hadith related by Ayesha Siddiqah states:
“Verily, the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.”[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
One of the countless benefits of Quran reading is that the Quran will be given permission to intercede on the Day of Judgment, and it will be an intercessor for its readers. Allah raises the status of a Muslim by the Quran in this world and the Hereafter. The more one recites, learns, and practices the Quran, the higher their status as a Muslim.
Those who learn the Quran are also blessed with peace and happiness in their lives, and their prosperity and welfare are promoted by the blessings of Allah. Many of their worries and regrets are often dispelled through the blessings of the Quran.
“Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism], and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”(Quran 13:28)
