Using mobile phones Learn Quran

Mobile technology has revolutionized the world, bringing significant advancements in communication. However, there are issues raised in the context of Islam that need to be addressed to ensure the best and most ethical use of mobile phones.

Etiquettes of Calling

  1. We must say Salam when starting a conversation. Saying Salam fosters harmony and is a prayer of peace for people on both ends of the call.
  2. Ensure that you are calling at a suitable time and not disturbing the person on the other end. It’s polite to ask if the receiver is free to talk or to request a convenient time for the conversation.
  3. Avoid long and idle conversations on mobile phones. Saved time can be better utilized in activities like learning the Quran and engaging in other Islamic practices.
  4. Switch off or mute mobile phones in mosques, schools, and hospitals to avoid disturbing others.
  5. Speak politely and gently on the phone. Follow the Islamic principle of speaking accurately and with respect.
  6. If someone is unable to take your call, refrain from repeatedly calling. Instead, leave a voice or text message.

Etiquettes of Texting

  1. Begin your text messages with Islamic greetings.
  2. Avoid disturbing others by sending text messages at inappropriate times, such as during work, rest, or Salah.
  3. Refrain from forwarding irrelevant or inappropriate messages that could annoy or offend others.
  4. Sending Islamic messages is a good practice, but ensure the authenticity of Quranic verses, Hadiths, and Islamic quotes before sharing them.
  5. When in a group of people or with family, give them your attention instead of texting someone elsewhere.
  6. It is disrespectful to engage with your phone while someone is speaking to you.
